Follow the instructions below to setup your email on an iPhone or an iPad.
- Press the Settings icon on your Dashboard
- Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars
- Select Add Account…
- For account type choose Other
- Choose Add Mail Account
- Enter the mail account information:
- Name: the name of your mail user (e.g. John Smith)
- Address: your email address (e.g. user@yourdomainname.co.nz)
- Password: the password for your mailbox
- Description: a short description of your mail account (e.g. John’s Mail)
- Press Next
- Select the type of incoming mail server (see POP vs IMAP)
- Enter the Incoming Mail Server details:
- Host Name: the mail server address (e.g. mail.ramsu.co.nz)
- User Name: the mail account (e.g. user@yourdomainname.co.nz)
- Password: the password for the above mail address
- Enter the Outgoing Mail Server details:
- Host Name: the mail server address (e.g. mail.ramsu.co.nz)
- User Name: the mail account (e.g. user@yourdomainname.co.nz)
- Password: the password for the above mail address
- Press Next
- A SSL warning will pop up:
Either click Yes to continue then Save – OR see our article on SSL: Can I use SSL with email? - Now the account is set up you need to go back into the settings to make some final changes.
Go back into the account you just created, under ‘Mail, Contacts, Calenders’ - Go into the account
- Tap on Outgoing Mail Server SMTP
- Tap on the Primary Server
- On the SMTP settings screen set the following:
- Use SSL = OFF
- Authentication = Password
- Server Port = 465 or 587 (try either if one doesn’t work)
